Baseball Recap 6.09

1. Bob Loblaw (81.5, +5)

Has jumped towards 2006 territory with a big week from the pitching staff, gaining 1.5 points in Ks and Wins. Roy Halladay notched two wins and Rich Harden struck out 17 in 12.2 innings while setting a new three year high in innings pitched. With 47. Gained two points in stolen bases behind five from Jose Reyes and another five from Soriano/Upton.

2. Fukakke (76, +1)

Continues ascent in the saves column, picking up six last week. Dropped a point and a half in runs in a week that saw a high water mark of 81, I think.

3. Uncle Phil (66.5, -1)

Lost four points in saves, but gained two in ERA despite the mark raising 0.04 points. In case you missed it (and I did) Milton Bradley was basically a hall-of-famer last week: 12 runs, 5 homers, 9 RBI, 4 steals, .647 OBA. Last League Activity: Thu May 29 10:29am EDT

3. Krukie's Left Nut (66.5, -1)

Stole nine bases to jump a point in that column but lost ground in saves, notching just three all week. ERA rose a considerable 0.14, but that wasn't Derek Lowe's fault: 2 wins, 2.40/0.93.

3. The M.B.A.s (66.5, +9.5)

The vacationing Wolfman was our biggest riser last week and jumps into the third place clusterfuck. Huge jump in saves (4.5 points) and a combined 4 points between runs and homers. Hit 17 HRs with 48 runs scored and 46 RBI (all league-highs). Gained some ground in ERA and WHIP despite not improving either number.

6. Horry Kow! (55.5, -2)

Lost four points between wins and saves, but made up three in ERA/WHIP. Held steady with a four in Ks, despite having the supposed edge in strikeouts when the season began. Still rosters Jason Kendall, who has scored 2 runs in the last month.

7. Dr. Jerry (48.5, n/c)

Champ was the only team not to move a single point this week. Lost 2.5 in WHIP, gained it back in homers, in the middle a great offensive week (43 runs, 15 homers). Manny Ramirez: 6/3/9/.500

8. Harangutans (36.5, -5.5)

"Brad Hawpe | COL | OF - Hawpe is back from the DL and has pounded two homers since he returned two days ago. He's got good power and, like [Troy] Tulowitzki, probably wasn't dropped in your league. If he was, go get him.
Recommendation - Should be owned in all leagues."

-The Hardball Times

9. Numnah (31, -0.5)

Is beating Tomke by almost ten points.

10. Bondo and the Asians (21.5, -5.5)

Now with 100% less Bondo.

You were angry when you wrote this, weren't you?

Brad Hawpe!!!

It's either apathy or anger. As you can tell by my writing schedule, they alternate weeks.

Hey, I thought a mega man or a bases loaded reference would fetch a comment. We write for a tough audience, Edwin.

My favorite episode of that Kid Nintendo series is when the mirror images from the evil side replaced the originals and caused havoc. Evil Kid Icarus and Mega Man were waiting on the other side to replace good Kid Icarus and Mega Man, but the good guys were able to save the day and stave off their evil twins.
