Championship Preview

VUFSA Bowl II

#1 Madd Skillz vs. #2 Cellar Dwellars

The winningest teams in VUFSA history face off after escaping unupset through the semi-finals...Neither franchise has ever lost a football playoff game...Schillinger has won all 3 meetings between these two franchises

News and Notes, SKL

The injury report is much friendlier this week, and that's after it didn't do any real damage last week...LaDanian Tomlinson is listed as questionable again, but is expected to play, and Domanick Davis is questionable and a game-time decision once more...It's a good thing Johnathan Wells is on the bench- Laverneus Coles for Wells should probably get consideration for GM move of the year...Tom Brady gets the nod over Matt Hasselbeck, despite the threat of not finishng Monday's game and Hasselbeck's hot streak...It's a way of hedging one's bets with Shaun Alexander on the other team; sure a big game from Hasselbeck is a gigantic advantage, but too many times this year, Alexander has done all the scoring for Seattle; a monster game from Shaun is trouble enough, but if it leads to a small game from the QB spot, it's even worse...A high score in the Chargers-Chiefs game can be nothing but good news for SKL, and it's great for them that both of those teams are clinging to slim playoff hopes- which ensures a full workload for the two stud backs in the game...9 of the 20 players on this roster are headed to the pro bowl; 8 of them offensive players.

News and Notes, CD

There are some owies over here, and they come at the worst possible time...All year, the Dwellars have been living on the edge when it comes to depth and remaining injury free- this week they may have fallen off with LaMont Jordan and Kevin Jones uncertain for Saturday...CD can make a move to get an RB- but would have to forfeit Byron Leftwich to do so...CD holds two players who can not only help his cause, but hurt SKL- if Jake Delhomme can have a big game and ignore Steve Smith and if Plaxico Burress can make Eli Manning forget Jeremy Shockey, that bodes very well for Stem's squad...Is it possible that Jerry Porter has a big game with Jordan out of the picture?...Randy McMichael plays against the worst pass defense in the NFL...Roy Williams (and possibly Kevin Jones) also have a nice matchup on tap...Larry Fitzgerald was energized by John Navarre last week, after suffering with Kurt Warner under center; with Warner out, Fitz is a threat for 20 every week again...Really, this comes down to the health of both Jones and Jordan- if both play, there's no real issues, but without one or both- it could get ugly.

Congrats on doing your best to make this seem like a close game. The TV execs would be proud.

I think it will be an upset if I lose by less than 50. Although I do appreciate Baron's vote of confidence.
