Baseball Race Update

Taking a brief break from football; let's take a look at Baseball down the home stretch.

-The Gun is going to win. By a lot.

-Ed has pretty much clinched second, holding a 11 point lead over Lincoln, who continues to slip.

-Lincoln is holding 3rd place now, but has fallen from around 60 to 52 in about a month's time. The offense isn't the same as it was earlier in the year, and the 7s put up in most offensive categories are down, while the wins and ks aren't there now either. A few more runs and steals, while holding off chasers in saves and wins could go a long way in gaining back ground.

-JR is closing in fast on 3rd place, and thus an overall title. He sits 1.5 points back of Souzek, and can get a crucial half point if his tie in wins is broken in his favor. Runs, saves and Ks are all spots where Radcliffe can pick up ground.

-There's a big drop from 4 to 5, 12.5 points worth. From 5 to 6, however, just one point separates Viano and Champ. Champ's offense is pretty impotent, holding a 3 in just one category, but his pitching is strong. He needs improvement in his hitting to catch a fading (12 point drop in about 3 weeks) Andy.

-Drew sits 7th, and in a bit of no-mans land, 5 points back of the race for 5th, while nowhere near 8th.

-Stem's team is putrid. Just 6.5 points above the league minimum.

So, Roto scoring doesn't lend itself as well to furious pennant races, or weekly updates, but it does reward an entire season of good play; no schedules, matchups or games played can skew it.

Football Recap coming Tuesday, Power Rankings on Wednesday, with a preview of Week 3 by the weekend. I think JR has another top10 due out as well.
